RANGERS HOUSE - THE M2000A QTH

Ranger's House is located in Chesterfield Walk, Blackheath, London SE10.

It is 50m above sea level with panoramic views especially to the West, North and East. To the south it looks out over Blackheath. It is an ideal amateur radio location and the site proved excellent for working DX..

Ranger's House is a handsome red brick villa on the edge of Greenwich Park.  Built in the early 1700s by Admiral Hosier, its most illustrious occupant was Philip, 4th Earl of Chesterfield.  In 1815, the house acquired its present name when it became the official residence of the Ranger of Greenwich Park.

Today, Ranger's House houses the Suffolk Collection of paintings; the chief attractions are the magnificent series of Jacobean full-length portraits by Lely and others, and several Old Masters.
