Next Exercise for Maryland RACES





SUBJECT: COMMEX Announcement for June 8, 1999

The June Communications Exercise (COMMEX) will begin at 1900 hours with the RACES portion beginning at 1930 hours and all portions of the exercise will terminate no later than 2030 hours. RACES, MEMA EOC Voice Network (143.04 MHz), and EIS/ECOMM network, telephone and facsimile are available. Directors are asked to submit the Administrative Report via facsimile or U.S. mail. Please use the enclosed form for this report.

Exercise scenario for June 8, 1999 is HAZMAT accident involving two tanker trailers. This accident has occurred within 500 yards of a senior citizens center, a middle school, and a local government center housing an emergency services center. Evacuations are required out to one half mile.Communications are badly needed. State Emergency Operations Center at Pikesville has been activated.

RACES frequencies for use with the State are:

147.105 MHz repeater - Eastern Shore and Central Maryland, (CTCSS tone 107.2 Hz)
147.090 MHz repeater - Western Maryland, and
145.750 MHz simplex - Packet Radio.
