Aurora at the Front Door

Hello to one and all and welcome to our little spot on the web.

Shana and I live on the outskirts of a small town called North Pole, which is located about 15 miles southeast of Fairbanks. Winters here can be very cold and the summers quite warm. A new millennium is upon us and this winter was the second warmest on record. Unfortunately it did limit taking pictures of the night skies, but I will not complain any more as the coldest we saw was minus 37.

On this page I have included some digital pictures from around this area and the state, as well as some of our interests. This winter I have been trying to catch some of the aurora with my digital camera and it does work. However as you can see on my aurora picture page digicams have a lot of catching up to do before they approach conventional film cameras.

So take a look and if you have the time please sign my guest book or drop me an e-mail to let me know what you think. This site will always be in a constant state of flux.

All the best,

Andre & Shana

A great place to find out what is going on in Fairbanks is our local paper's site
