It may have been more logical to call this the Louisiana French page. While the cajuns had a profound influence on the culture of south Louisiana they were not the predominant french group who settled Louisiana. By far, the vast majority of the settlers of south and southwest Louisiana came from France, frequently by way of Canada but not necessarily Acadia. The cajuns were the french settlers of Acadia in Canada who were expelled by the British in 1763
