Batteries are charged up once again. Lasts me about a week. My little hand held takes three AA batts. I use nickel-metal hydride for the extra umph they provide.

If you're intersted, I'll be monitoring the node in my area after 6pm for most of the week.

Another day wasted away on downloading junk from WinMx. Talk about a download junkie. I wonder what Kevin Mitnick would be doing if he had access to the internet...

Radio conditions are real bad where I'm at. Can hardly hear so never mind transmitting. I get on the air mostly on echolink while I'm at home. You can check to see if I'm online with Echolink. Feel free to give me a shout if you see my call!...

I've noticed that this page is so old that a lot of the information is now out of date. Most of the links don't even work anymore. What a bummer.

A local ham radio operator just became a silent key. I knew him. I didn't think it would so so easy to know people who died, but I guess this is Florida. Not that he was old or anything, but I did like him. He seemed honoured to be able to help. Kept the hobby interesting and most importantly, helped in any way he could.. So long Paul.. 73 N4PK! You will be missed..

It's been a little while since I wrote anything in here. Maybe a few lines of nonesense is in order. Echolink took over the ILINK and the server was up for many months courtesy of Don (kg4coq) and Ron (n9ee). Lately the server has been down due to hardware replacement costs and internet server providers sneaking in an unexpected bill. I see my last post showed that my computers were down. hmmm.. Time has pasted and I'm back again! woohoo!!!!

Well, All of my computers are down for the count. I don't think they'll mak eit back either. Had to cancel my cable ISP and time has erroded to no refuge. Not very good news for a ham. I did however manage to squeez a few hours in camping with Del and John (WB0QIE and KE4EAO). Didn't stay for they night, but had a lot of fun building a fire!

Although I spend a lot of time working and going to school, I still find a little time to chat during my commute to and from my places of business. Yesterday I didn't have a chnace to get on because of the massive amount of traffic on our repeater. It was connected to the ilink converence server which had several other repeaters tied into it. Each user passed the right to speak to each other allowing for very little time to break in. I have found this same experience with the IRLP. I hope kg4coq doesn't keep the ilink linked into conference server all the time. I'm sure there are enough of us out there which could easily take over the room, but I'm sure we're all refraiming from doing so because it is kinda new and we're all just giving it a chance. Maybe soon someone will put up a conference server exclusively for our repeater. This will allow multiple ilink users to jump in and local qso's could still be accomplished without disturbing any of those people not intending to talk solely to florida. We'll see I guess. Like all good things, they must first be tested and debugged.

Almost a month has gone by and I've made quite a few great contacts via ILINK. The N9EE-repeater has been of great service to me since I earned my ticket. Hope to learn morse code soon so I can jump into HF.
