Yes folks, it is that time of year again!!!
The 19th Annual “BREAK AWAY TO KEY LARGO”, the premier amateur 2 day cycling event in South Florida will take place April 16-17, 2005.
Amateur Radio Operators provide communications from various posts including reststops and along the route. We are the eyes and ears for the organizers and provide timely communications and organization over two counties. We need about forty (50) volunteers for each day. So please, join us in assisting this worthwhile cause and have fun doing it! Sign up for Saturday, Sunday or both days!
This year we are trying something new. Our thanks go out to Wendy DiBean, KG4OXT who has created a web sign up page via which you can volunteer from the comfort of your chair.
Please use the link below to sign up.
Please download this volunteer registration form and fax it to the number at the bottom of it.
This year the event is being coordinated by Ernesto Diaz, KG4LXH and Andy Piches, N3PI. We can be reached at ms150@kg4lxh.us (this email address will be forwarded to both of us).
This year the start/finish line is at the Miami Dade South Campus. This is a completely new route and we are excited about it. Below are the maps for both days in PDF format. Please keep in mind that this route may change due to construction or other unforeseen circumstances.

What is multiple sclerosis?
Multiple sclerosis is a chronic, often disabling disease of the central nervous system. Symptoms may be mild such as numbness in the limbs or severe - paralysis or loss of vision. Most people with MS are diagnosed between the ages of 20 and 40 but the unpredictable physical and emotional effects can be lifelong. The progress, severity and specific symptoms of MS in any one person cannot yet be predicted, but advances in research and treatment are giving hope to those affected by the disease. The National MS Society is dedicated to ending the devastating effects of multiple sclerosis. For up-to-date information about multiple sclerosis, current research initiatives, and advances in treatment options, please click on here.
