Costa Rica 2003

Why we came back

It's rare that one has an non-ham XYL who can combine her own interests with that of an avid dx-peditioner. In my case, I've been lucky with trips to Bermuda and to Costa Rica, because Carol has been able to pursue venues for creating artwork in these locations and spending time painting and drawing while I'd be on the air. While we were in Costa Rica in 2002, she spied a brochure advertising a one-month art residency outside San Jose at the Julia and David White Artists Colony in Ciudad Colon. In June of 2003, she applied, and was accepted for one month beginning December 1, 2003. Naturally, I would want to accompany her and get myself on the air again from this semi-rare country.
