Security, as indefinable as it is, is seemingly valued by many people in the world today, even if it means trading off their own liberties and rights. America's, the oppressed in the past, most everyone's desire on some level is some sort of freedom from something. The sad truth of the subject is that freedom is not something you can "acquire" or just buy off the streets in its truest sense. We often give away things, liberties, from our lives in trade for the illusion of security in our lives. Laws help us feel secure, controlled, lacking chaos. One has to consider though, are our goals really that realistic? Perhaps we should change our view of the world rather than trying to change it to how we want it. Instead of desiring security and trading out whatever we possess for it, perhaps one could simply be content with what is there and everyone, if all "converted" at once, would just leave a less stressful, happier life in general. The future could present this option to the people, however there are by far too many paranoid people inhabiting this planet for anything rash to occur at the rate that anyone would even remotely notice.1 It is the sad truth.
