HELMETS & HARDHATS

A culmination of pictures depicting helmets, hardhats, and related items and their "value" in protecting people.

Helmets, hardhats, and other such items fall under a similar category as seat belts. These safety items have been around for a considerable amount of time, mostly prevalent in the medieval times in which knights would adorn these atop their heads for protection. At the time, these patrons of the knife and sword were perhaps required to wear their helmets, for the very clear likelihood of dying otherwise. As time progressed slowly the use of these devices became obsolete. Only recently were laws passed that required people that engaged in most activities to wear some sort of protective cranial protection. Recently the police and such organizations have been cracking down on people whom do not wear their helmets, usually if under the age of 18.1 These laws, although very logic driven and perhaps do save many lives, are silly to require because if parents/the rides actually cared enough about themselves/their children then they would most likely wear a helmet no matter what the "law" states. Any person who doesn't have common sense enough to wear a helmet perhaps shouldn't be wearing one or even riding a bicycle/skateboard/scooter. These people either need to learn to get some common sense, or suffer sever life threatening injuries to prevent the passage of their genes onto future generations. Let evolution evolve these failures in human technology.
