As well as being an avid dxer and contester I also do my part in the community with public service. I am a member of the City of Corpus Christi Disaster Reservist. We are a group of hams who operate in conjunction with the office of emergency management. I currently hold the position of VHF net control at the EOC. We participate in drills about 4 to 5 times a year plus do the ARRL SET (Simulated Emergency Test). We have the call sign KX5CC for the EOC station. Also I am a member of ARES, RACES and Skywarn.
