First licensed as WN2CRR in 1971. Upgraded to General Class and WA2CRR in 1972. Upgraded to Advanced Class in 1975. Obtained W2CRR call in Aug. 1997 as part of the vanity callsign program. Then, without haven't previously planning on it at this time, upgraded to Extra Class in Nov. 1997. Member of ARRL, RARA, and Xerox Amateur Radio Club, W2XRX. Intermittently, member of Rochester VHF Group.

ARRL VHF Sweepstakes Results: 6 Meters - 94 QSO's, 37 Grids, 2 Meters - 73 QSO's, 14 grids = 8466 pts.
Obtained a Radio Shack HTX-10 for 10 meter mobile 12/3/99. Installed in my truck. Happy with it so far.
Operated a little in the CQ WW DX Contest Oct. 30/31, 1999. Worked 29 countries,including 18 contacts with Japanese stations, mostly on 10 meters.
My son Greg and I took 1st place in a small hidden transmitter
hunt sponsored by the Xerox Amateur Radio Club on April 25, 1999.

Started operating PSK31. Its a mode similar to RTTY. Was
described in May 1999 QST magazine. Uses PC sound card and PSK31
software. My only interface with radio are shielded audio cables
to the PC soundcard. Works great. See this link for more info:

On HF I work all bands, both CW and SSB. On SSB I mostly chase DX, but not too seriously. Work 2m/440FM mobile from my truck using the Kenwood TM-733. Bought Yaesu FT-920 this June. First new HF rig since TS-520 in 1975.
