DCARES Mission:

Davidson County ARES is dedicated to providing reliable communications during disasters. A disaster, whether natural, technological or man-made can be defined as any situation that causes human suffering or creates human needs which the victims cannot alleviate without assistance. DCARES operates at the request of several agencies that we serve. These include, but are not limited to, The American Red Cross, The National Weather Service, Nashville Metro Office of Emergency Management, Nashville Metro Health Department and Tennessee Emergency Management Agency. Many types of disasters quickly overwhelm normal communications such as cell phones and the regular phone system. In many cases public safety communications systems are also overloaded. ARES members provide backup, emergency communications that can respond quickly. Our systems are flexible enough to provide many different types of communication as different needs arise.

For more information on joining DCARES or services that we may provide, please contact K1YJ .
