Born August 7, 1940 and raised in Springfield, MO

Joined the US Navy when I was 17 and served in the Nuclear Submarine program as an Electronics Technician/Reactor Operator until 1965.

I got to travel all over the world but saw very little due to poor visibility. (No Windows)

Worked as Shift Supervisor of Reactor Operations at the University of Missouri (Columbia, MO) from 1965 to 1979.

Became a Nuclear Start-up Field Engineer in 1979 and participated in the construction and start-up of a number of nuclear power plants in the Midwest and Southeast.

When nuclear power plant startups ceased, I started my own company (Technical Solutions) which provides laser printer repair, services and supplies to a number of businesses in the Knoxville and Oakridge, Tennessee area.

Hobbies:
I became a ham radio operator in 1956 and have always enjoyed the hobby. My latest venture is QRP (Low power operation).

It's a real challenge to try to communicate all over the world running only 5 watts or less when others are running up to 1000 watts.

Other hobbies through the years have included:
Motorcycling (Dirt bikes and touring)
Gun Smithing
Archery (Competition Shooting)
Fishing
Reading (always)

LOCATION

Presently located in Spring City, TN

Spring City is located in Eastern Tennessee on the West side of the Tennessee River halfway between Knoxville and Chattanooga.

It's a small town of approx. 2,500 population. It's the kind of place that if you go to the bank and find it closed and there are people inside, they will open up to let you transact business.

I moved here in 1986 and wouldn't trade it for the hustle and bustle of a large city for anything.

I bought an "A" frame on the banks of Watts Bar Lake, part of the TVA's Tennessee River Lock and Dam system. The lake is approx. 36,000 acres and is non-commercial (very quiet)! You really hate to go to town or anywhere due to the tranquil way of life here.
