FLEXNET + BCT
x PACKET 1200 (under DOS) with
AUDIO CARD
Download the software you need:
FLEXNET (PCF.LZH);
DRIVER SK AUDIO SM by Thomas Sailer, HB9JNX (SM.LZH o PSADRVR.LZH)
(DOWNLOAD
PAGE OF FLEXNET);
BCT (Baycom Terminal) for FLEXNET (BCT.LZH);
Software to extract compressed files (LHA.EXE);
Install and run FLEXNET as explaned in "HOW TO INSTALL FLEXNET UNDER DOS" page;
Copy in the same directory BCT.EXE;
Now run "BCT /n": Baycom Terminal will be loaded; on the left top you'll see RCV when receiving packets, SEND when transmitting and QRV in stand-by;
tune your RTX on a packet
frequency (1200 Baud): can you see RCV
on the left top (when somebody is transmitting)?
Well, we are on the good way; push F10, some words and then the ENTER key: if your audio
card is connected to external speakers you'll hear packet transmission everytime you push
the ENTER key; if so, all is running fine
If the SEND word became locked, there's some comunication problem between drivers: solve it using the right driver for your Audio Card (if your card uses no-standard address or IRQ tell smsbc.exe to use the right one when loading, read the file SM.DOC!!);
If you hear your card transmitting but you receive only short frames, then the problem is an audio distorsion (audio cards use to amplify signales very much before processing: use proper tools to avoid the use of AGC, tonality filtering ecc.); sometime it's the RTX: for example I have this problem using my old IC290D (may be the squelch is too slow); with my IC3230H all works fine! Try also to increase audio level!
