Last F.A.I. Activity from JN70CN during
Perseids 1999

In the last 1999 Perseids shower, I have listened two F.A.I. opening in direction EST.

The first in the night of 07 August, I was on 144148.0 for to try one MS Random QSO with LZ7Y; the burst from him was very strong. At 22:30 utc I have listened on the frequencies one continuous signal, I put my antenna around 30/40 deg Est. To my great amazement I have listened one strong signal S/9 with classic FAI effect . Therefore I have switch to my DTR recorder and have decoded LZ7Y in qso with F8HS. After I have had received LZ7Y RRRR I have called him in cw at slowly speed for ten minutes. Unfortunately LZ7Y have not received me and after some minutes , probably, he have turned antenna in other direction. At 23:30 Utc I have worked LZ7Y in MS qso with very strong reflections.
In accordance with the K9SE FAI software I have calculate the details of this listening : I have found that the parameters was totally respected.

In fact :
1) My antenna was direct around 30/40 deg
2) LZ7Y was in qso with F8HS located in JN23 , the tropo antenna directions of the LZ7Y(KN41), probably, was 285 deg.
I was on yellow contours lines, and the same is true of LZ7Y.
The calculate scatter point was around JN83.

The second was in the night 10 August, I was on 144167.0 for to try one MS Random QSO with TA1ZK/0. The reflections from him was not good . At 20:30 utc I have listened on the frequencies one continuous signal, I put my antenna around 60/70 deg In this direction have listened one FAI signal with s/2-s/5. The signal was of TA1ZK/0 in high speed , at once I have switch at low cw and have called him. The qso was very easy with the classic FAI modulations.
Also this qso was in accordance with the K9SE FAI software.

1) My antenna was direct around 60/70 deg
2) Andrea TA1ZK/0 (KM29) have confirmed me that his antenna was at 300 deg.
I was on black contours lines, and the same is true of TA1ZK/0.
The calculate scatter point was around JN92/KN02. On this same scatter I have worked, in the past, SV1BTR in KM17.
