I started some years ago with a small homebrew comparator circuit connected between the HF receiver and the RS232C interface on the computer for FAX reception. At the time I was also using a commercial satellite WEFAX system in my work and the homebrew setup proved rather useful for data correlation.

Having reviewed various software products I finally decided to purchase JVComm32, a Windows program for receive/transmit of SSTV and incorporating WEFAX capabilities. Available in the UK from Persivell visit the links page for their web site.

The station currently consists of an ICOM 706mk2, usually operating at 100w to either a wire dipole for 20m or an HF mini-beam located in the loft for 30m and above. On occasions I have operated SSTV QRP with successful contacts into Eastern Europe.
