This page was intended to share some self-written ham radio & "utility"
software. When using this software, the entire risk is with you (as usual
:-)....
The software has been checked to be virus-free, but no windoze-based
software in the world will ever be 100 percent bug-free.
Just try ! If the software works on your PC (and with your installation of
windows), be happy; if it does not, don't worry... maybe there will be a
future release with some bugs fixed.
Before you install any software, take a short look at the documentation if
it is provided in the software archive.

Spectrum Analyzer (now "Spectrum Lab") with Waterfall
Display and other features

Using Spectrum Lab as VLF receiver (kind of
"application note" :-)

The "soundcard/audio utilities" can be used to
access the soundcard from almost any programming language.
All you need is FILE access in your program, no need to write an audio driver
yourself.
Can also be used to receive audio samples from the PIC-based A/D converter
through the serial port.

DLL interface between all kinds of Software Defined Radios, eliminating the
need for virtual audio cables, etc. This open source project (project name
Audio-I/O) can also be used to send audio
streams from SpecLab to Winamp/Oddcast .

DLL interface for the implementation of new digital
communication modes using SpecLab

Communication between windows programs
using the WM_COPYDATA message
(this method is used in SpecLab to communicate with external "add-ons" like
the RDF calculator)

The WOLF GUI (with sources) - a graphic user
interface for Stewart Nelson's WOLF (Weak-signal Operation on Low Frequency)

A modified variant of WSQ - a Weak Signal QSO mode
for LF and MF, developed by ZL2AFP,
and slightly modified by DL4YHF.
Separate downloads for the windows executable, the modified sourcecode (plain C),
and several modules added by DL4YHF to simplify testing (audio file decoding, audio file logging).

RDF Calculator: for radio-direction finding,
topographic map display, locator calculation, graphic display of the intersection
area of two "beams", and display of a 'live' map for Spectrum Lab's RDF mode.

here . Note: To show topographic
maps in the RDF calculator, you will also need to download the GTOPO30 or
SRTM3 database for your area, as explained in the RDF calculator's
manual.

PIC Programmer for Windows 95/98/XP DL4YHF's
"WinPic" supports some new PIC devices, and can be used with various simple
interfaces for the serial or parallel port. Since 2005, WinPic now supports
PIC10F20x, dsPIC30F and many PIC18F devices. Note: Development of WinPic
has stopped because I don't use PICs myself anymore.

CalcEd - a notepad-like text editor which can
calculate with complex numbers.

CurveEdit - a primitive, graphical
viewer / editor for array data. Can be used to edit reference curves for
Spectrum Lab.
For C-programmers :
Most of the PC programs that you find here are written in C++ Builder V4.0
. Sorry, I will not waste my time playing around with MS C or other "visual"
stuff.

plea for the sake of European software developers !
My apologies for this chapter, which -under normal circumstances- doesn't
belong here.
There are plans to introduce so-called "Software patents" in the European
Union, which may make projects like Mozilla, OpenOffice, Linux, and other
free software projects inpossible. Just consider what could happen if
someone holds a software patent for simple things like "progress
bars", "mouseclicks in certain forms", "scrolling windows", and decides to
enforce that patent with an army of lawyers...
So please visit the following site by clicking on the "NO ePATENTS" logo,
make up your own mind, and -if you agree- sign the petition which is directed
to the European Parliament and to the European Council.
