Don and Donna and Theresa on the beach
ten miles east of Hilo on the big isle
of HAWAII
This is my furry buddy POPOKI
Donna and I built our large home on
a half acre -with our
own four hands and have created our
own little jungle
We have about 50 palm trees- 65 papayas
and oranges,lemons, avacados
We also have bananas' pineapple and
passion fruit
Donna grows roses, gardenias. orchids,
pikaki, hybiscus and aloe
We live close-but out of danger-to
the volcano
This hot lava is Kilauea
and is about 20 miles south and offers
no danger
we get a few small earth tremors but
thats all

Here is one of our many papaya trees-
we have twelve trees bearing
fruit and many more growing up- keeps
me busy supplying the neighbors
Most of these photos were done with
a Kodak DC-40 digital camera

I am still constructing
This work is killing me
we had this thing headed our way on
Aug 2,1996 -But it got cold feet and
it went away
This lil storm was named DOUGLAS
AND STARTED OFF COAST OF MEXICO
THEN HEADED TOWARD HAWAII
Now that fall has arrived storms no
problem
ALOHA YALL
The reason for the song " DIXIE"
is
We are 20 degrees n lattitude
which makes us the very DEEP south

WE
DONT HAVE MANY OF THESE
WE DO HAVE SOME OF THE NENE -STATE BIRD
-
this
state fish is the HUMUHUMU-which
is the very short name of the real fish
What we have here is the state flower-
the YELLOW -HYBISCUS
Thiss is what got me to Hawaii in 1942

If you are looking for this old
guy
he is vacationing here in Hawaii
BE PATIENT IT IS ONLY
