Don's -AH6KA- Page

Here is where u learn what old Don has been up to in Ham Radio for the last 43 years

I got my novice license in 1953- then went on to technician-general then to advance- I never liked code and was poor at -it so - did not try for extra class.

My dx consisted of working 250 plus countries twice- once from the mainland and once from Hawaii- have worked 100 countries on SSTV-did a lot of work thru the oscar satellites but when they died some years ago it hac cost me over $5000- so no more satellites-except the TV type i have installed since 1979-Have worked a lot of Fm-rtty-vhf ducting---- I have worked many contests and field days- run 1000's of phone patches for the GIs in antarctica- Korea-Viet Nam etc -The most rewarding part of ham radio has been the assistance i have given during earthquakes-floods-fires and sinking boats around the world- Of course in the old days when we had super propagation it was always a blast to have WAC (work all continents) round table gab fests with some one on each of the continents.

stay tuned more to come later

My final QTH is on the Big Island of Hawaii
