Honolulu

The backdrop of the city of Honolulu is the world's most photographed volcano, Diamond Head.
The crater is best viewed from the mountains that line the city to the north.

Those who climb Diamond Head are rewarded with a fantastic view of the ocean below.

Honolulu is also the entertainment capital of Hawaii
with a wide variety of hula halau performing for tourists & locals alike.

Several buildings in and around Honolulu have beautiful murals painted by Wyland,
one of Hawaii's best known artists.

Those who wake up before dawn can head downtown to the fish market, where the day's catch is auctioned off.

Nature has given Hawaii an abundance of blessings, but it has a sinister side too. Every few years a fierce storm comes within striking distance of the islands, as did Hurricane Iniki in September, 1992. At the typhoon's greatest intensity, I ventured outdoors to attempt some "art" shots.
