To help me remember my father ZL2ALW
who was known as BARNEY to most and Lawton to a few. My earliest re-collections at about 4
years old are the sights and sounds of a Teletype machine in the Garage at
Castlecliff, Wanganui. Dad won many RTTY contests, over the
years and always strived for new technology. |

The
next New Zealand VHF and above contest is called the Hibernation Contest and
will be held on the 6th and 7th of April. |

The 2000 and first “Barney” Award was
won by ZL2AVY. Doug contacted me the most and on many
bands last year during December. the Award lst year was $100 and a paper
award. |
