| The above photo is the car with Harry ZL1BK and Simon's FT 817s running into the fishing rod dipoles supported by the mast on the left. If you can ever get hold of a "Real Estate" flag holder, grab it - they're sooo useful! | Harry with the dipoles - top one is the 2 fishing rod system with a small single band 20m dipole made out of two small fibreglass whips. | |

| Above shown is the portable AO-40 system made out of exhaust pipe for the stand. The 3 legs are removable for ease of transport. The dish is a 90cm offset fed unit with a Transystem AIDC 3733a converter with a 28 el 70cm X Yagi. | Harry and Simon's AO-40 systems in a high spot, working into Germany (DJ5MN that day). | |

| Simon and XYL Sonia out for a day on the boat, this was after the fisrt race of the America Cup. We are around the back of Motowehi Island. Just one of the many beautiful islands in the Hauraki Gulf. | Simon ZL1SWW's tower at home, this is a 52 foot lattice tower made out of aluminium. It used to be 75 feet but a tree fell on it when it was in a horizontal position during storage. Antennae are 4 el 6m beam and a 3 el Mosely TA33. | |

| Yes.... I was on a slope and pole looks a bit funny but it worked and didn't want to get near the bush on the left as the ground sloped off a bit steeper. The stand is a home made adaptation of the "Real Esate" pole but mine folds up flat when not in use. | Another fine day on another hill for another quick contest. | |

| A typical rush job to get the stattion set up with only 2 hours to go. 2m on 706, 1296 and 70cm on the FT-817, very handy to be able to switch antennas when switching bands from the front to the back antenna sockets. | My typical setup on VHF field day - 6m, 2m,70cm,
925 on the grass, 1296, 2424, 5760 & 10 Gigs. Site is at Rodney Road - 374m ASL and can crak 340km+ on all microwave bands. Won 3 contests from this site. Gets pretty windy from here. | |

| The micro controlled antenna rotator made from an
old 50:1 gearbox, an electric window motor, some exhaust pipe and tome
time for electronics. Good for cold days when staying in the car is good.
Has PWM control, electronic stops in software and variable rotation
speed as needed in contests. Feedback done by 10 turn pot that runs
on fibreglass PCB disk which feeds micro and meter drive for position
location. May write an article on this when time permits. |
