"The Taxi Book"

First published in 1945 by the Auckland Co-Op Taxi Society, the "Taxi Book" was an essential piece of equipment in Auckland police cars and control rooms.

The "Taxi Book" was a street directory that provided written directions to streets, landmarks and major buildings in the Auckland metropolitan area

The Taxi book was quicker to use than a street map assuming that the user had a reasonable knowledge of the main streets of Auckland
