Auckland District Control Room - mid 1980's

The communications panels were originally designed to take the Sperry-Univac Uniscope 100 computer terminal. When this photo was taken this had been replaced by the smaller UTS20 terminal unit. Note also the space between the operator positions designed for the old conveyor belt system which was made obsolete by the introduction of Computer Assisted Dispatch.
