Murray ZL1CN is keenly interested in Amateur Radio

Murray and Laurice are committed Christians and they attend Calvary Chapel.

Murray was employed by Telarc Limited between 1993 and 2006 as a quality systems auditor, auditing to ISO 9001, Accident Compensation Corporation Health & Safety Standards and Rail Safety Standards.

Murray and Laurice now own a company called Dove Contractors which is contracted to New Zealand Post for delivery of mail to Point Wells, Omaha and the Tawheranui Peninsula

Laurice is a music teacher, registered by the Institute of Registered Music Teachers, and she teaches piano, keyboard and theory.
