Auckland Islands
This was the first Dx-pedition to this rare spot for many years. It took an enormous amount of organising and red tape to get through. However the Dx-pedition was very sucessful indeed and gave many thousands of Amateurs this rare and needed country for the DXCC's. Fellow DX-peditioners were ZL1AMO (Ron) and ZL0AFZ/9 (Wayne). Special thanks to: Icom Incorporated for IC-735 transceivers and Power Supplies. JA1BK for beams, JA1ACB for Tono RTTY Equipment, INDEXA, NCDXF, ZL4BO and the gang, K4TKM, YASME, JA1EMK group, JA2VPO group, EDXG, SDXRA, and many other Amateurs and clubs in USA and Japan whose contributions made this DX-Pedition possible. Special acknowledgement also to the New Zealand Department of Conservation and the Scientific group; Graham Taylor, Sue Pockett, Greg Lind, Jock Craigie. Special thanks also to Captain Ian Leask and his crew on "Savannah".
