THE FIRST ACTIVITY FROM YU6 - MONTENEGRO

ON 50 MHz BAND

 

    During the first weekend of july 2002. year, taking a part in Tesla Memorial, VHF/ UHF/ SHF contest, YT6A and YU7FU activated JN92ik square from Montenegro, on 6m band. Location was top of Lovćen mountine, 1750m asl, and equipment were Icom IC706MKII - 100w, and antenna F9FT 5 el. yagi, five meters above ground.

    The first intention was to work with " Henry 8k " PA, prepeared and tuned on 50 MHz, about 5kW and 4 times 7 el. yagis. We published that, and called EME interested in boys to try moon bounce. But, bad luck made that power suply died only few days before contest, "Henry" was out, and we decided to use low power equipment.

    Activity started at fryday 05.07.2002. in late afternoon, and finished at sunday of 07. july about noon.

In the contest Es CONDX were almost bad, and we worked only 54 QSOs, heard more stations, but, with only 100W it was impossible to broke some pileups with ES, UT and more SM, OH etc. Also, Tropo was not good enough to work some more YU, S5, LZ , YO etc.

    " Dream team " worked on 50, 144, 432 MHz  5,7 and 10 GHz and OPs were ( in alphabetical order) YT6A - Ranko, YT6PSF - Sava, YT6T ( YU7DR) - Djurica,  YU1LA - Ivan, YT7TW - Siniša, YU7EU - Pred and YU7FU - Neša.
