The most of our members are ex-members of Radio club "Nikola Tesla", YU1AXY. We were very disappointed in the leadership there, so we decided to establish new Radio club in our 50 000 citizens - city. We are existing since march 2000. We work QSO-s, DX-s, make antennas, visit our mountains for VHF contests etc.
The turkey on top of our sites is traditional symbol of our city. Jagodina exists since 1399 a.c. It is located in central Serbia, in valley called Pomoravlje (rivers name is Velika Morava - Great Morava on english). If You try to find it on the map, try to find Svetozarevo. Explanation follows: Since 1399. until end of second world war town had name Jagodina. Than it changed it's name to Svetozarevo, (Svetozar Markovic, socialist and revolutionary). In 1990. citizens wanted the old name again, so that today our city again has name Jagodina (Yagodeena in english language).
Jagodina is 21E16 and 43N56 located. It is also on the half of highway between Belgrade (capitol) and Nis. About 13 km south-east from Jagodina is Cuprija (Choopreeya in english). There are living our very good friends radio amateurs, and we are very glad when correspond with them on 2m. The most visited simplex-channel in our region is S-18 (145.450 MHz), so, if You drive on the highway near Jagodina or Cuprija, and if You have an VHF transceiver, call us on that frequency and meet us in our cities. We'll be glad to see You !
