SP DX Contest
The SPDX Club of PZK has the honour to invite the radio amateurs and SWLs all over the world to participate in the SPDX Contest which is held on the first full weekend of April every year. The object of the contest is to establish as many contacts as possible between radio amateurs around the world and radio amateurs in Poland.
RULES OF THE SPDX CONTEST 2000
For participants worldwide (outside of Poland)
Contest Period | Saturday 01 April, 15.00 UTC - Sunday 02 April, 15.00 UTC. |
Modes | CW and SSB. |
Bands | 1.8 - 3.5 - 7 - 14 - 21 - 28 MHz. |
Contest Call | "CQ SP" for foreign stations, "CQ TEST" on CW or "CQ CONTEST" on SSB for SP stations. |
Exchanges | Foreign stations transmit a six or five figure number consisting of RST or RS report plus serial number, for example 599001 on CW or 59001 on SSB. Polish stations transmit a three or two figure number representing the RST or RS report plus one letter denoting the WOJEWODZTWO (province) abbreviation, for example 599B on CW or 59B on SSB. |
Points | Each correct QSO with a SP station on each band counts 3 points. Only a full QSO will be counted. |
Multipliers | Each different WOJEWODZTWO (province) denoted by the one letter abbreviation counts for one multiplier on each band. The maximal multiplier is 16 per band. |
Categories | SOMB Mixed Mode SOSB Mixed Mode MOMB Mixed Mode SOMB CW SOSB CW SWLs SOMB SSB SOSB SSB Contacts on CW and SSB with the same station in Mixed Mode category will be counted separately for scoring, however QSOs must be performed in the proper band segments for CW and phone modes according to the IARU Bandplan. Mixed contacts CW/SSB will not be valid. |
SWLs | SWLs outside of Poland have to receive the call sign and code sent by the Polish station and it's correspondent call sign. Each SP station may by logged only once per band and it counts 3 points. Multipliers and final scoring shall be counted similarly as for foreign transmitting stations. |
Final Score | The sum of QSO - points of all bands multiplied by the sum of different WOJEWODZTWOs (provinces) gives the final score. |
Logs | The log must contain date, time in UTC, exchanges, indicated multipliers and points. A summary sheet should contain all scoring information: category, contestant's name and address and a signed declaration that all contest rules and regulations for amateur radio in the country of operation have been observed. Logs must be checked for duplicate contacts. A multiplier check list should be enclosed. Log may be sent in the form of a floppy disc (ARRL file ASCII), if this should prove to be convenient. |
Certificates | Special certificates will be awarded to the top scorers in each operating category in every participating country. |
PZK Awards | Each of the PZK Awards may be obtained if a standard application form is enclosed. All QSOs indicated in any award application must be made during one SPDX Contest. |
Disqualification | Violation of the rules of the contest or taking credit for incorrect QSOs or multipliers or duplicate contacts in excess 3% of total made will be deemed sufficient cause for disqualification. The decisions of the SPDX Contest Committee are final and not contestable. |
