COLOMBIAN LEAGUE OF RADIO AMATEURS

THE COLOMBIAN INDEPENDENCE DAY CONTEST

 

1. ObjectiveThe Contest Celebrates the Colombian Independence Day (July 20/1810) and it is addressed for amateurs around the world to contact other amateurs and as many Colombian zones and countries as possible.
2. Contest PeriodThis yearly contest will be held the third Sunday of July 16 of 2000, Starts 00:00 GMT Sunday. Ends 24:00 GMT Sunday, 24 hours.
3. Categories"A" Single Operator - Single Band;

"B" Single Operator - Multiband;

"C" MultiOperator - Multiband - One Transmitter; Operators must transmit as single
operator and may not change bands within next ten minutes of band in use.

"D" MultiOperator - Multiband - MultiTransmitter; (All xmters must be located within 500 mts each other).

4. Bands80, 40, 20, 15, and 10 meters, No WARC bands accepted..
5. ModesPhone, CW or RTTY

- No mixed modes will be accepted.

- Cross mode contacts is subject to disqualification.

6. Contest CallsPhone: CQ HK Contest

CW and RTTY: "CQ HK Test "

7. ExchangeRS or RST followed by serial number starting with 001. (e.g. 59001 or 599001).
8. ScoringCOLOMBIAN Stations score:

(1) One point Colombian contacts.

(3) Three points South American contacts.

(5) Five points other Continents and San Andres and Providencia Island (HK0).

OTHER CONTEST PARTICIPANTS INCLUDING AND SAN ANDRES - PROVIDENCIA ISLANDS (HJ0/HK0):

Scores:

(1) One point own Continent.

(3) Three points other Continents.

(5) Five points Colombian stations contacts.

(0) Zero points own country but valid as multiplier.

9. MultipliersDXCC countries on each band including HK, and number of HK zones: HJ1/ HK1 to HJ0/HK0 ( ten (10) zones) worked count multiplier 1.

HJ0/HK0 zones counts either as DXCC country and as Colombian Zone ( two (2) multipliers).

10. Final ScoreMultiply total QSO points by multipliers obtained all bands, for the final score.
11. LogsLogs must show:

1- UTC times.

2- Call sign station worked.

3- All send and received exchanges are to be logged (RST)

4- Indicate zone and country multiplier only the FIRST TIME it is worked on each band and total points claimed.

5- Use separate sheet for each band.

6- Include a cover sheet indicating in BLOCK LETTERS : category - mode - Your name - callsign -license baered - mailing address - a summary of your scores and how claims it particularly for number of Colombian stations worked.

7- Submitted logs must have duplicate contacts clearly shown with zero (0) points.

8- Incomplete logs and those missing the summary information will not be included in the competition.

12. Other Requirements1- One contact per band will be accepted.

2- No cross band or cross mode contacts will be accepted.

3- To qualify for the contest Diploma a number of at least 80 contacts must have worked.

13. Disqualification1- A contestant will be disqualified for violation of amateur radio regulations in his own country and the rules governing the contest as well as own license conditions.

2- Wrong operating practices cause disqualification of the contester.

3- An entrant whose log is deemed by the Contest Committee to contain a large number of discrepancies or indicate a persistence of incorrect QSO's or Multipliers or show duplicate contacts up to 20% will be subject to disqualification.

4- Action and decisions of the Contest Committee are official and final.

14. AwardsTrophies:

- Top Winner. To each Colombian Zone winner.

- "Category "A" Winner" for each mode and band and categories "B", "C" and "D" for each mode.

- "The Best Novice Station" for HJ and HJ0.

- Diplomas will be awarded to stations who contact at least eighty (80) overall stations in the contest.

15. DeadlineAll LOGS must be postmarked NO LATER than September 30 and mailing deadline is 30 days after the end of the contest (August 31).
