Montserrat was ravaged by hurricane Hugo in 1989 and recently has been ravaged by the constant erruptions of the Suffrere Hills volcano. As many as half of the islands citizens have had to be evacuated and the capital, Plymouth, is a ghost town today. In the late 80's, VP2M was very common on the air. Today it is rapidly rising on the most wanted list.
