Comments:

I just moved to my new house, but I used the same MFJ-1796 Loop
Antenna (36"diameter). My new tower is due in a few weeks and I
didn't want to go to the trouble/expense of putting up temporary
antennas. This time the loop was mounted out in the backyard
vertically on a 5 foot mast and tripod. The loop definitely works
better outdoors than it did from my former apartment since my best
IARU score with this antenna indoors was less than 50K.

Band comments:

10M: I heard no EU on 10m, but I heard RX working a few. The only JA
I heard was JA2ZJW LP on Sunday morning, but he couldn't hear me. I
did work VK/ZL, though. Picked up TZ6VV at 11:50Z Sunday morning.

15M: Excellent. It was neat to work EU and JA at the same time.

20M: Excellent Saturday night. I was even able to hold a frequency
and run JA's between 0830-1030Z.

40M/80M/160M: Antenna doesn't cover these bands. I tried loading it up on 40M, but that wasn't going to happen.

It was neat to work so much good far east stuff (9M2, 9M6,BY, BV, DU,
HL, YB etc.).
