The antenna upgrades were purchased at the 1999 Dayton Hamvention.
Tom, N6BT, from Force 12
stated the new antennas would be delivered in about 6 - 8 weeks.
In order to minimize the tower time when the new antennas arrive, I decided
to remove the antennas that were to be replaced. The C-4XL/D and C-3 were
lowered to the ground and dismantled. The TIC ring was eventually
moved to the required spacing of the new antenna stack. That in itself
is a whole other topic. Basically I only had 80 meters during the
spring and summer of 1999..... But was it worth the wait?? |
