*** VHF Test Update #005: December 27, 1998 ***

A few people have been doing some testing in the latest 
beta and things haven't been too bad so far.  

The only bug found was in the fudge function which was 
still inserting a colon into the time which was corrupting 
the QSO record when logged to disk.  This has been 
fixed.

The other mistake was that I sent out an old version of 
CALLGRID.EXE that still processed the .VHF files.  It was 
building a CALLGRID.TBL file with four-character grids 
from those .VHF files which the main logging program got 
a little cranky about.

There has been some confusion about what needs to be 
done to convert .VHF files to .VT3 files, so I have added 
some comments to the beta download page of the Web 
site and also have written a CONVERT.DOC file which is 
part of the download package.

The latter two concerns will be corrected in a new upload 
that will be on the site soon, probably by Monday night.

I have also added a chronological list of beta updates.  
When you download B300_009, you'll get the most 
recent.

I appreciate all the input and patience regarding the 
changes to this update.
