  Juddie D. Burgess, WD8WV / AAT3EM
ex-KC8CON

I am an Amateur Radio Operator (also known as Ham Operator) and a Military Affiliated Radio Service (MARS) Operator.   Licensed as an Amateur Extra, I operate on all bands and various modes.  I progressed up the Amateur Radio ranks via all the requirements, except the Novice ticket.  I started as a Technician, then Tech Plus, General, Advance and finally Extra.

I am a member of the American Radio Relay League (ARRL).

I am a member of the Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Service (RACES) and WV Army Military Affiliate Radio System (MARS).  I am also a member of the Plateau Amateur Radio Association, Inc. and HamJones DX Association.

I have been a licensed Amateur Radio Operator since February of 1996 with the callsign of KC8CON originally assigned to my license.  In December of 2003, I decided that it was time for a callsign that would be easier to use when working DX stations.  I researched the Vanity HQ website and looked at several callsigns that were available.  They have an extensive list of callsigns on their website.  I finally went online to the FCC Universal License Service (ULS) and applied for the vanity callsign of WD8WV (Whiskey Delta 8 Whiskey Victor).  WD8WV was issued to me on January 9, 2004, by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).

I have several links listed below to various organizations, clubs and websites of interests.  There is a link to how I got into this hobby, plus a link to my other hobbies that I like to do.  I hope you enjoy my website.
