I was first licensed in 1993 as VR6DB. When Hong Kong changed over I became VP6DB. I was very pleased to be asked to go on the Nov. 2001 DXPedition but rough seas made us turn back 80 miles from Ducie. I felt very sorry for Kan because I knew he wanted to get there.

When Kan sent me the email to say he was going to try again I was very happy. He asked me to go again and I was over the moon. The DXPedition of the year award for 2001-2002 VP6DI hangs with pride in my ham room. To get asked to go again is an honor for me.
