Vasishth,

A good place for someone new to SPICE is Tuinega's book on PSPICE.
This book is often used as an undergraduate "text" for labs/homework
in SPICE, and covers the basics of analog simulation reasonably well.

Then you can use the HSPICE manual for syntax and operation for
advanced features and options. (I keep a copy of both close to hand.)
