Hopefully this will lead you in the right direction.
1. Can I do mixed simulation with HSPICE by using both SPICE models and
IBIS
models for my driver/reciever pair ?
Yes, Chapter 20 in the Avanticorp manual (Using Ibis models) should get
you started.
2. How can I do the differential signal simulation in HSPICE for a simple
topology, saying a differential driver drive a differential receiver
through a
100 ohm differential pair transmission line ? If anyone can give me a simple
.sp
example, that will be great.
Here is a w element 100 ohm diff impedance trans line that
has worked well for me. The structure can easily be expanded
to incorporate more conductors so that you can see the effects
of crosstalk et al. Each of the signals can me measure single
ended or differentially. The output of your receiver will show
what the input is seeing. Remember the termination across the
inputs of the receiver and package parasitics if you feel that
is appropriate. I would have given you an entire deck but it
had alot of extra junk that I thought might be overwhelming.
(random pattern generation, eye pattern display, etc)
