hello,

I hope someone can help me with the following question:

What is the susceptibility of (current) hard disks with respect to DC and
low frequency (< 100kHz) magnetic fields.

I have found specs in old manuals (Conner disks, at least 10 yr old) which list
6 Gauss max. (DC to 700kHz). On the Seagate web site I have found a single spec of
max. 5 Gauss for a small hard disk (4.2Gbyte).

Probably others have encountered similar questions and I was hoping that the si-list
could help me on this problem or at least direct me to some useful sites.

regards,
