RE: [SI-LIST] : Slew rate

First of all, the IBIS spec doesn't use the unloaded slew rate of the
buffer,
because the slew rate is measured into a 50 Ohm resistor (or similar value).

The model is usually the most accurate when the real load is closest to the
load
at which the model was derived at, but this may also be simulator algorithm
dependent.

I don't fully understand your second question. If you don't meet spec.
requirements, chances are that your system will not work.

Hi all,
I have two question regarding slew rate of output buffer. The 1st is
about the IBIS nodel for buffer behavior. The IBIS model use the DC I/V
curve and the unloaded slew rate of buffer to model the buffer behavior.
Will it give correct slew rate for all loading condition? Any trick
needed to generate model? The 2nd question is about the slew rate SPEC
for some standard. e.g. PCI required the slew rate is between 1.5V/ns to
4V/ns under the prescribed loading condition. what if the SPEC do'nt be
met?
Any help will be appreciated!
