Thanks for all the responses on differential signals. You all confirmed
what I guess I already knew. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't
missing anything. In a nutshell, keep the signals closely coupled to
each other with respect to the split plane, and keep the split narrow so
as to not cause significant impedance mismatches. And as always, "As
the frequencies increase, so do the things that can bite you in the
butt." So as frequencies increase this subject will be revisited and
simulated to derive the physical characteristics needed to accomodate
the higher frequency.
