R&D Department of 3Com Carrier Systems Division in Chicago, IL has a open
position for Signal Integrity Engineer.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

The successful candidate should 1) perform analog simulation using SPICE
and develop simulation models for high speed I/O buffers, 2) perform
simulation and analysis of high speed PCB design and define signal
integrity design rules for the new system designs, 3) build and maintain
libraries for simulation models for various CAE tools, 4) function as
liaison between CAD and hardware engineering departments, 5) develop macros
and/or utilities to automate various R&D application software, and 6)
assist hardware engineers with application software questions.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

The candidate should have 1) a Bachelor's or Master?s degree in Electrical
Engg. and 0-2 years of experience (includes summer inter experience), 2)
knowledge of transmission line theory and it application to signal
integrity analysis, 3) knowledge of analog circuit theory and experience
using circuit simulator such as SPICE, 4) exposure to a variety of
synthesis and simulation tools and a knowledge of UNIX and NT environment,
5) good written and verbal communication skills.
