Most of what you said sounds good but I'm not sure about your voltage swing
range. The parts will swing within the range of GND to Vcc but the
external system may cause voltage swings greater because of reflections.
That increased swing is not part of the switching characteristic that is
supposed to be modeled by IBIS but is what the SI simulator is supposed to
tell you.
