Subas,

A couple of points worthy of note:

When you use SPECCTRAQuest, you see a directory called "signoise.run" that
appears. Simulations are run and results are stored in that directory.
When you run SigXplorer, a directory called "sigxp.run" appears - for the
same purpose.

Whenever SPECCTRAQuest tries to perform a simulation (whether it runs
successfully or not), it creates a netlist in a subdirectory called
case<x>/sim<x>. The main netlist is called main.spc, and it's in the
SPECCTRAQuest simulator netlist format.

The program spc2spc others have mentioned takes the main netlist file
main.spc (and a collection of others that are referenced in that file) and
creates a single netlist file, main_gen.spc. You run spc2spc in the
directory where the main.spc file is located.

Other issues:

Please note for the main.spc netlist to be present, SPECCTRAQuest must have
_tried_ to run a simulation (but not necessarily succeeded). That means you
have to have set up enough of the design for SPECCTRAQuest to try and
simulate it, and you must have just executed the analysis for the
interconnect you're interested in (if you run multiple analyses, the
main.spc file is continually written over).

Spc2spc does not assume a transmission line implementation by default - it
produces lossless transmission lines from RLC "lumps". The -welement
switch, as previously mentioned, targets the HSpice W element model; this
feature is only available in the 14.0 version of the translator and beyond.

The Spice file "main_gen.spc" produced by the translator takes a little
getting used to, but is very well defined and structured once you understand
it. The BDRVR statements (which are commented out) show the nodes where
you'll probably want to connect your drivers and receivers to.

Hope that helps,

Todd.

Subject: [SI-LIST] : SPECCTRAQuest to HSPICE

Hi all,

I am just wondering if you know if its possible write a script (or better
some tools already available) to convert the SQ topology simulation file
(such as main.spc, comp.spc etc) into HSPICE or other standard spice file
format? This is to correlate the simulation results from SQ and HSPICE.

regards,
