At one time there was a net called The Panama Canal Net, it was on for more than 50 years on 7.295. It consisted of mostly Canal Zone employees and retired CZ workers. KZ5 was the preamble Earned by those in the CZ. Many Hams changed their Call after coming to the States. After Jimmy Carter gave the CZ to the Panamanians the members fell off over the years. A few of the check-ins were: WA4FUR Steve, SK, KA9ZHY Daniel, WB4HJG Mark, KZ5WH Wade SK, W5STH Jim SK, WB0QGH Dale SK, KZ5MP MaryJane KX5GXC Pete, W4IXN Richard.
