I've never run into any compatibility problems with soundcards (but have never tried anything by Creative). I buy the absolutely cheapest OEM cards I can find (or use on-board integrated solutions). They've always worked fine.

Have not tried RITTY but have run PSK 31 with Digi-Pan but board does not work well at all with the PSK module in  Dx4win. In fact it's not acceptable at all but Digi-Pan is fine.

Does NOT work with RITTY.  I can only run RITTY with a ISA sound
card.. I am not aware of any PCI cards that work with it which is why I have
never considered it for use as a program.

Basic problem is that the sound card can't route the mike through to the speaker output, making it mostly useless for SSB contesting.

I have 3 computers. I have a Creative SB-16 in two computers. I also use two Yamaha DS-XG in one computer so I can run 4 radio's with one computer. Both the Creative SB-16's and both the Yamaha DS-XG scored an 7f. I can't tell the difference between the $13.50 Yamaha and the Creative SB-16 in preformance at all.
