Touring South Dakota Day 3 (Spearfish)

Today we set out to the north west towards Wyoming.
We had breakfast in Spearfish at Perkins restaurant and then
Headed up highway 90 to route 111, then over to Aladdin (just
for a quick look around). Then headed on over to the nice
little town of Hulett where we saw that the vendors were
already all set up for the coming motorcycle tourist traffic.
There was a lot of bikes already there. I took a quick break
here and bought a couple of extra "T" shirts (they had a great
selection). Then we headed on to "Devil's Tower".

We are still quite a ways off at this point (about 9 miles) but
as you can see it is still an impressive site.
This is close to one of the shots used in the movie "close
Encounters of the Third kind", and a few other movies.

Here I got a close up shot of the cliffs. Though I am still well
away from the cliff face, you can see that you still can't take it
all in, in one look. You can also get some idea as to the size as
there are climbers on a couple of the ledges in this shot.

I got a little better shot of the two lower climbers (just above
the tree top). They are belaying another climber below them as he
makes his way up the cliff

Here you can see very clearly the two climbers belaying a third
Climber below.

Here is a good shot of the lower climber making his way up to the
others. Also once he got up with the other two then the lead man
of that group started climbing to get caught up with the two that
were on the higher cliff in the first picture of the climbers.
