Godspeed
The 1985 voyage across the Atlantic

Welcome to the Godspeed Voyage site

"On 30 April 1985 a replica of the 'Godspeed' departed London to begin her journey across the Atlantic in commemoration of the original voyage some 379 years earlier. No records of the original lines of 'Godspeed' exist, but the replica vessel was as close a representation of a 17th-century sailing ship as was possible. She was designed by Duncan Stewart and built by Carl Pedersen and his crew. The keel was laid on 14 May 1982 and the ship christened on 12 May 1984."

This site documents the  journey across the Atlantic  from  England  to  Jamestown  aboard the tiny, Virginia built replica known as GODSPEED.

This site is dedicated to my parents, Jean and Bob Tanner.  Thanks for making it possible.
