Shaping the Bow Piece

This is the Bow piece. Notice the shape. This is about the easiest shape to pull the
canvas around, so you can staple it. Also note the notches, the upper is for the deck
piece, and the lower one fits to the thickness of the keel piece.

* * * You may extend the length of the bow and stern pieces considerably if you wish to
lengthen your boat. However keep in mind that it is only 1/2 inch ply, so it is a good
idea to glue some strengtheners to the top of the sides to prevent warping or bending
of the ply. Just be sure they do not create a proud spot, (bump) in the canvas.
