This rib is where you spend most of your paddling time. You lean on it, sit on it and maybe even tie your decoys on it. You want this to be sturdy and yet not add too much weight to the stern on the boat. To secure the deck piece from the stern piece to this rib glue and screw a sturdy piece of plywood with a "U" cut in it to accept the deck piece. It does not need to be huge, but use a piece of 3/4 ply if you have it it. The "U" will keep it from "rolling Over and breaking the glue joint. |  |
